97 year old Man Survives Skydive.
There is footage on the BBC website showing a 97 year old man from Dorset completing at 120 mph Sky dive.
To be honest they say he completed the sky dive where I think it should read survived. The amount of adrenaline that is produced during a sky dive is unbelievable. The volume of blood will increase by 40% in most people.
Obviously there has been loads of studies but a few have determined when different chemicals get released in the body.
Prolactin, Growth Hormone and Thyrotropin are found to be in the body 1 to 14 minutes after the jump has been completed. This is in comparison to the levels recorded before the jump.
The heart rate shows significant tachycardia (accelerated) at each stage of the jump (exit, free-fall, opening, open parachute and the landing). The study again obviously recorded levels before and during the jump.
All these studies performed on people who were between 20 – 40 and were of very good health.
In conclusion I think that a elderly man of 97 should really be prevented from sky diving. Why on gods green earth would you want to sky dive at the age of 97, nevermind a company allowing it to take place.
