Biggest ever UK Personal Injury Claim

A former cyclist champion has been awarded the biggest UK compensation claim of £14 million for when his career ended following an extremely serious road accident.

In 1998 on a training ride Manny Helmot, 39, was knocked off his bike by a speeding car and spent the following 36 weeks in hospital recovering from brain injuries and the loss of use in one of his arms

Manny now requires 24-hour care and because of the injuries to the brain he suffered in the accident, he his unable to work, never mind drive or ride his bike – ever again.

Hi Mum has given up work to look after him and had the family home converted to cater for his disabilities.

The driver of the car was convicted of dangerous driving and his insurance company was sued by the family in Britain’s biggest ever personal injury compensation claim battle.

Fraudster for personal injury claims caught out

Well done to the person who was investigating this claim – he noticed that 3 or 4 claims had been made by the same person and bingo – the fraudster has been clocked!

Trying to claim for a number of accidents he’s never had the fraudster has now been jailed. The claims, had they completed would have brought him over £20k but would have cost his local authorities more than £100K
The guy who was unemployed and has had several previous convictions was sentenced to 15 months sentence bars and advised he must serve at least half of this in prison

Fortunately, as the claims were thought of as suspicious in the early stages, no actual monies were paid out.

Personal injury compensation claim

If your having a nice family day out the last thing you expect is to end up with a load of scaffolding falling on you. Well, that’s what happened to a young mum in Wiltshire this weekend.

Watching a stuntmen show with her two young children, and with her 14 month daughter in her arms, the scaffolding tower behind her collapsed and ended up on top of her.

Luckily the baby was OK but she needed treatment in hospital. Following investigations, it was found that the tower has not been erected properly so she was able to claim for compensation. She received £4,700 for the pain and suffering she encountered from this horrible ordeal.

Dustman misses serious injury…

A dustman who was crushed by his reversing wagon earlier today, and who was unconscious at the scene, was rushed to hospital and has narrowly missed serious injury and only needed stitches to his head.

The wagon was reversing round the corner as it hit the man at work with the bin lift. Increased pressure at work and having to cut corners to save money has been the blame for this accident!

The accident is being investigated further by the councils heath and safety team to ensure that the correct procedures are put in place to prevent this from happening again in the future.
